Investigating the current situation of political education in the primary period of the Iranian education system

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the current situation of political education in the elementary school of the Iranian education system using qualitative research using documentary analysis with a statistical sample of the textbook of teacher work in lessons, social studies, Persian and celestial gifts. Purposefully selected, done. The results of the research showed that the situation of political education in the primary school curriculum is not very favorable. Relevant goals focus more on the cognitive and emotional dimensions and have been neglected on the behavioral or skill dimension. The content of the curriculum has not been able to provide a good opportunity for political education of children based on the idea of ​​religious democracy and needs a fundamental and serious review. Although the proposed teaching and evaluation methods seem to be learner-centered and active, they can not be very effective due to the shortcomings and weaknesses of the educational content. On the other hand, there seems to be no coordination between the curriculum of social education, Persian and heavenly gifts in terms of political education.
