Good Governance and Socio-Economic Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Based on 5-Year Development Plans of Post Islamic revolution

Abstract

The statistical population was students and specialist professors in socio-economic developmet. The number of professors was 10 who were selected using purposive sampling method with theoretical saturation. The statistical population of students were all PhD students in Sociology, Political Science and Economics of Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch, who were studying in the second semester of 2019-2020 and the sample was 200 students. The validity of the questionnaire was assessed by the informal validity and reliability of the data measured by using test and retest method and Cronbach's alpha test. We used a questionnaire that was made by the researcher and the semi-structured interview. The hypotheses have been formulated using the theory of good governance. The findings of the survey indicate that there is a strong significant relationship between the components of good governance and socio-economic development. According to findings there is a strong significant relationship between variales of participation, rule of law, transparency, accountability, justice and fairness, accountability, efficiency and effectiveness, consensus building and good goverence. The results of the qualitative study showed that the causal conditions of accountability, public consensus, transparency, efficiency and effectiveness, equal rights and responsibility have been identified and the central phenomenon of the mono-product economy, which has emerged in the field of private sector activity, the independence of the people and the media, the role of the government, the government-people partnership, the political and organizational capacity of the government, the government and the welfare of the government.
