Investigating the Relationship between Tendency to National Identity and Social Indifference among Citizens of Bushehr

Abstract

Social indifference implies a kind of disregard for individuals, laws, norms, social and political events and events. . . It is in a society that has been strongly condemned and strongly condemned by many scholars in various fields of study.

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between national identity tendency and social indifference among the citizens of Bushehr city. Research Method In this research, the survey method and data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical population of this study is all individuals over 18 years old in Bushehr city which according to latest statistics is about 150 thousand people and 384 of them are selected as sample size according to Cochran formula.

The results indicate that between the tendency towards national identity (P = 0.35) and all its dimensions namely historical identity (P = 0.26), religious identity (P = 0.41), cultural identity (P = 0.41). There was a negative and significant relationship between political identity (P = 0.40), territorial identity (P = 0.33) and social indifference among citizens of Bushehr city. Therefore, all the research hypotheses are confirmed. The results of structural equation modeling (Smart PLS) also show that religiosity had a moderate effect on social indifference (-0.53) and the religiosity variable explained 0.28 of the variance of social indifference variable.
