The Role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Establishing and Political Stability in Iraq (2003 to 2020)

Abstract

Recent political developments in Iraq in various political-security, cultural and economic fields have affected the relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with this country. Iraq has always had a special place in the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a member of the Middle East region, Iraq has been on the one hand linked to the regional equations of power in the Middle East and on the other hand has been one of Iran's constant rivals in the Persian Gulf. The main research question of the strategic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran What role has it played in creating and establishing political stability in Iraq? The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of the strategic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in creating and establishing political stability in Iraq. This research is a descriptive-analytical study based on collecting library information, reviewing documents and analyzing them and is qualitative. The findings show that in general, the most important cases of the Islamic Republic of Iran's role in creating and establishing political stability in Iraq can be summarized as follows: Iran's opposition to separatism and the disintegration of Iraq, countering the growth and expansion of the group Takfiri and extremist groups, preventing the spread of the ISIL crisis in Iraq and the export of technical and engineering services.
