Abstract

In the era of communication and people's access to various social media, illiteracy of journalists and their misdirection is one of the most important factors behind the backwardness of this field of study. The method of this research is survey and census and its statistical population is all final year undergraduate journalism students of the country's universities. The findings of this study showed that from the students' point of view, lack of work experience and inexperience of professors in the profession of journalism is one of the main challenges in teaching this field of study. They consider the country's media environment as security and political. According to the findings of this study, students also consider single-stage student selection as one of the challenges of teaching journalism and emphasize that in this selection, attention is not paid to the mental and physical condition of the candidates and land management. The result of this study also showed that one of the challenges of this field of study is not evaluating the ability of professors in the profession of journalism, ie any professor can become a professor of this field by passing a number of educational units and accepting theoretical exams. Journalism in communication institutions is not available at the university when they are hired, and a professor can become a lecturer in this field without even an hour of journalism, while these professors are not able to teach in the practical classrooms of this field of study.
