Analysis of the effect of ethnic policies in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the process of ethnic convergence in Golestan province

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of ethnic policies in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the process of ethnic convergence in Golestan province. The effectiveness of ethnic policies and ethnic policy-making as the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the extent to which ethnic groups reach a common understanding and convergence has been examined. Given the ethnic structure in Golestan province and existing ethnic gaps, policy-making is a necessity. The present study is descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the study includes 1868819 people living in Golestan province, which was obtained based on the 2016 census, which according to Cochran's formula, 384 people were selected as a sample. The data collection tool was a questionnaire developed for each of the research variables, the reliability of which was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis was performed by SPSS〗 _26 software. Findings showed that the ethnic policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have led to increased cooperation in economic activities, increased interactions and social and cultural ties between the tribes of Golestan province.
