Investigating the effect of environmental indicators of industry on the quality of social life of citizens of Assaluyeh and Kangan

Abstract

Background and Aim: Quality of life as a concept to show the level of satisfaction with life and in other words is a measure to determine the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of individuals and groups from different aspects of life. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of environmental consequences of oil and gas industry on the quality of social life of citizens in the South Pars Basin.
Research Method: In terms of purpose, it is an applied study, in terms of breadth, in terms of micro-scope and in terms of time, it is a cross-sectional study. Research Method In this research, the survey method and data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical population of the present study is all people aged 18 years and older in Assaluyeh (58,000 people) and Kangan (80,000 people), of which 376 people were selected based on the Cochran sampling formula and cluster randomly as the sample size. Data analysis method also includes descriptive and inferential statistics including correlation and regression.
Conclusion: The quality of life of citizens in various aspects is negatively affected by the environmental consequences of the oil and gas industry, so to improve quality of life indicators, it is necessary to reduce the environmental consequences and destructive effects of the oil and gas industry.
