Developments in urban development in the last 20 years in Tehran from a sociological perspective

Abstract

In the city of Tehran, four categories of factors have played a role in urban development that the interaction and interaction of this set of factors during the last one hundred years has led to a kind of unbalanced urban development and disproportionate distribution of facilities. Economic factors, social factors, cultural factors and historical-political factors can be mentioned as the most important factors of urban development. The general purpose of this study is a sociological analysis of the development trends of economic, social, political and cultural factors in Tehran over the past 20 years. The research question is whether urban development developments have affected the development of economic, social, political and cultural factors in Tehran in the last 20 years? The method of the present research is documentary and historical. Using census statistics, four indicators of social, cultural, political and economic factors in the development of Tehran metropolis were determined and using cluster analysis and factor analysis, research hypotheses were reviewed and confirmed. The results show that in social development, a humane and culture-oriented approach to development can lead to comprehensive and effective results while strengthening and promoting the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. Tehran's physical development can be explained by the economic approach of the theory of modernization for development. Tehran's political development is not equivalent to urban development, but Tehran's historical and economic development has been influenced by urban development.
