Identifying and ranking the factors and components of globalization in Iran University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

Globalization is so important in higher education that firstly it ensures survival and existence and secondly it ensures competitive advantage. The aim of this study was to identify and rank the factors and components of globalization of Iran University of Medical Sciences. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative and exploratory in terms of nature. The statistical population of the present study was at two levels of available scientific resources and academic experts. In the first level, the sampling method is described in the systematic review of resources, and in the second level, the sampling research is done in a purposeful and non-probabilistic judgmental manner. Also, the volume of sampling at this stage is limited to 30 experts in this field with a theoretical saturation approach. In the present study, two methods have been used to collect data and also three sets of tools have been used to do this in accordance with each method. In the first stage, in order to identify the indicators and components of the globalization of the university system, the method of systematic review of resources and interviews with experts have been used. The research results led to the exploration of 53 components in the form of 6 main factors: educational system structure, resources and manpower, educational content, knowledge structure, external environment and educational technology.
