Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of architectural spaces in the treatment of diseases (case study: cancer) and seeks to find an architectural space that can help treat cancer. Architecture with texture, form, color and other components of space can play an important role in this regard. Cancer is a major problem in many countries around the world. Attention to the treatment environment of cancer patients has become very important for architects and according to Charles Jenks' interpretation has led to the "architecture of hope." The architecture of hope focuses on the newly established centers of cancer care. According to the ontological and phenomenological approach, it can be said that medical centers provide a kind of "institution / institution" accommodation. The research method was qualitative and phenomenological. The results showed that Maggie Medical Centers do not claim to treat cancer patients using their architectural spatial qualities, but help patients who use these spaces to connect with these centers within their spatial perceptions of the geography of the living environment. Landscape, urban space, building architecture and interior architecture and the use of elements related to sensory perceptions such as color, aroma, tangible materials and natural light, better emotional, more relaxed, more appropriate privacy and more effective interactions between When they do not use these spaces, have. And in this way, they receive hope, healing and compassion from the healing architecture of these centers and their gardens.
