Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between Islamic religiosity and political participation in the presidential elections (1400) of the Islamic Republic of Iran among students of Iranshahr University.

Methodology: The research was conducted by analytical survey method and its statistical population includes all students of Iranshahr University in the academic year 1401-1400 in the number of 3000 people. According to Morgan's table, 341 students were selected as the sample who answered the questionnaires. The questionnaires used in the research were researcher-made religiosity questionnaire and researcher-made political participation questionnaire.

Findings: The results showed that Islamic religiosity has a direct, positive and strong relationship with political participation; In other words, the higher a person's religiosity, the higher his political participation.

Conclusion: According to the research findings on the significant relationship between religiosity and political participation, the use of this strong potential, ie religion to increase political participation, is a factor that should be considered by universities.
