Abstract

The subject of this article is to examine how political participation and national security interact in the reform government. So the main question here is how political participation has led to national security in this period? The main hypothesis of the article is that the spontaneous and conscious participation of the people in the reform period due to the presence of most social groups with diverse tastes and views in council, parliamentary and presidential elections and belief in the influence of their votes in choosing agents plays a very important role. There has been national solidarity and, as a result, increased national security in Iran. The results show that during the reform regime in the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering the increase in government accountability, increasing public participation in various elections and the expansion of privatization, as well as pursuing a policy of de-escalation in foreign policy, high national solidarity and as a result, we can say that a sense of security was achieved in the national dimension. The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical qualitative and the data is collected in a library method by taking files
