Assessing the status of political socialization among students: Case study of Allameh Tabataba'i University students

Abstract

The present study is an attempt to answer these main questions: What is the official political socialization of the students of Allameh Tabatabai University of Tehran as the largest humanities university in the country? What are the components of political awareness, political attitude and political participation as components considered to measure the realization of formal political socialization among the students of this university? And according to the results of this research, what proposed solutions will be available to improve and develop the situation of formal political socialization of students?
This research has been done in a survey. Its statistical population includes students of Allameh Tabatabai University, both men and women (in 2014) and the study sample includes 313 students. The survey tool was a questionnaire in which the main variable, namely formal political socialization, was broken down into three levels and components of political awareness, political attitude and political participation, and these components themselves became a number of indicators and finally 54 appropriate questions and items. Are back. The results of this survey show a significant relationship between political awareness, political attitude and political participation among men and women. Also, the average political sociability of women was higher than men and political awareness in both groups was lower than the attitude and political participation. Finally, according to the results, special strategies for quantitative and qualitative development of this process have been proposed.
