Abstract

Reading as one of the most important sources of information is not only an individual practice that can be pursued for personal interest but also the social status of the community are determinants of reading. This is especially important when it is related to a particular age group and is related to the needs and desires of that group. The present study examines the literary tendencies of adolescents in Isfahan and the social causes of these tendencies.
This research has been done by a qualitative-quantitative sequential combination method. For this purpose, a total of 23 adolescents and adolescents aged 12-17 years were selected by purposeful sampling method and after data gathering through semi-structured interviews, data analysis was performed using three-stage coding method. Using a multistage cluster sampling method, 384 high school students were selected according to 6 educational districts of Isfahan.
Qualitative findings suggest that causal conditions such as adolescence, family cultural consumption, and socialization make the study a temporary one in contexts such as cultural-socio-economic barriers to adolescent literary tendencies toward translation with emotional genres. Comes with humor and fantasy. Testing the hypotheses shows that the level of study is mostly related to the independent variable on attitude toward books, adolescent characteristics, and then socialization by family. And the needs of adolescence. And the only independent variable affecting translation tendency is adolescent characteristics. Other variables have the same effect on compilation and translation.
