Abstract

The Islamic Revolution and its consequences in the cultural, political and social spheres have affected the issue of national identity. Being Iranian plays a key role in determining the needs that the development model is designed to meet. In the second step of the revolution, according to the historical developments, the adaptation of national identity to the new needs of Iranian society is necessary. Despite the importance of traditional elements of Iranian identity (history, land, myths, common culture, etc.) at present, these parameters do not seem to be effective in solving current problems of society. Therefore, to solve the current challenges of national and Iranian identity, we must move towards the values, common beliefs and human standards of the revolution. In this regard, the statement of the second step of the Islamic Revolution is a picture of the future of Iran to achieve a new Islamic civilization, which in the context of paying attention to the components of national identity, is possible in seven axes. In this paper, we answer the question, where is the place of national identity in the statement of the second step of the revolution? The authors claim that the declaration of the second step of the revolution is a sure framework for achieving new components of national identity. Today, the issue of the statement of the second step of the revolution, by supporting and protecting the past achievements of national identity, has the ability to realize the capacity of new components of national identity.
