Abstract

Nationalism means the awareness of belonging or membership of a nation, that is, the national awareness that creates in people the components of a nation (race, language, customs, social, moral and cultural values, love, attention and interest. Nationalism creates a sense of admiration for these components and the belief in their distinction and superiority over other nations, since each nation has its own land, loyalty to the land and sacrifice for it and the nation admires the principles of nationalism. In Iran, nationalism, based on the Islamic era and the emphasis on the distinction between religion and politics, is based on antiquity and has led to a set of romantic ideas about ancient Iran and Iranian identity that have always been associated with imbalance and neglect. Considering the behaviors after the Islamic Revolution of Iran, especially with regard to the Iranian political identity, he was successful in matching the two sources of Iranian identity and being Islamic on the one hand and protecting the Islamic Republic. The research methodology is a library based on its goals and identity, in which the authors try to collect historical library evidence to address ethnic nationalism and civic nationalism from the perspective of thought, ideals and politics of the Islamic Revolution.
