Abstract

The aim of this research is to present an almost comprehensive view of the influence of the main natural and visible materials of architecture and with a phenomenological view of it (from the perspective of phenomenologists such as Merleau-Ponty) in giving identity to architecture. The method of the current research is qualitative, which will be investigated, compared and analyzed based on the ideas of prominent researchers and architects in relation to phenomenology and perception of space. In examining the theoretical foundations of the upcoming research, phenomenology has been examined from the perspective of all theoreticians since its inception, and by examining the theoretical foundations presented by theorist architects in the field of phenomenology, the concepts of phenomenology in the field of architecture can be cited as an approach to the discussion of materials. , is summarized. Based on the findings of the current research, the sense of sight and other senses, especially the sense of touch and mental perceptions, are very important in determining the materials used. Also, in the evaluations of this research, it is concluded that in order to give a proper identity to architectural design, the selection of materials should be done in the first steps of architectural design according to their phenomenological approaches and pay attention to the symbols associated with each of the materials and Their environmental psychological issues are also effective in their more effective use in the body of the architectural space
