Medical and health beliefs in Rumi's lyric poems

Abstract

The aim is to know to what extent Rumi was familiar with medical and health terms and knowledge and beliefs? What is the motive for using them in his poems?
The research method is library and study. After taking notes and arranging them, the research data is analyzed and described.
The result is that Rumi was familiar with medical knowledge and medical and health beliefs of her time. Recognition of the four mixtures of bile, soda, phlegm and blood and diseases caused by their disorder, clinical examination and taking the pulse and seeing the urinary incontinence, observing the principle of abstinence and prevention, cupping and purification and opening the blood vessels, recognizing the dry and wet temperament and Hot and cold foods and medicinal plants, correct diagnosis of various diseases, ascites, epilepsy, colds, diarrhea, cholera, diphtheria, etc. Prescribing drugs suitable for any disease and such cases has been used extensively in Rumi's lyric poems.
Rumi's main purpose of illustrations and themes and interpretations and poetic and innovative combinations is to express the high mystical thought and love and faith in God and nearness to the Almighty.
