Comparative Evaluation of the Performance of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the Sixth and Seventh Periods

Abstract

The present study's purpose was to evaluate the performance of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the sixth and seventh periods. For this purpose, the performance of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the economic and political fields, etc., in the sixth and seventh periods have been compared.
The research method was a descriptive survey. The statistical population of this study was all the representatives of the sixth and seventh periods in the number of 588 people, and the entire population was selected as a statistical sample.
The statistical methods used included descriptive statistics (frequency distribution tables, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (independent t-test and chi-square). SPSS 22 software was used for data analysis.
Findings indicate that there is a significant difference between the level of people's participation in the elections of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the number of general approvals, the frequency of questions from the executive bodies, notice of regulations the sixth and seventh periods. But there is no significant difference between, the number of political approvals, the status of impeachment of ministers, research and investigation, constitutional notice of the representatives, economic approvals, inflation rate, gross domestic product, and unemployment rate in the sixth and seventh periods.
