Abstract

The crisis in Qatar's political relations with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries occurred on June 5, 2017, following the remarks of the Emir of Qatar about the importance of Iran and its interaction, and the severance of diplomatic relations between four Arab countries centered on Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In the wake of the crisis, the Trump administration took a moderate stance, encouraging Qatar to accept Saudi terms, especially on relations with Iran, and making extensive diplomatic efforts to reduce the crisis. Tillerson, Pompeo, and other State Department officials evoked a sense of inaction and lack of seriousness at the end of the crisis between the two countries in pursuit of US strategic interests in the region.
With the defeat of Trump in the 2020 presidential election and the efficiency of the Democrats and the change of priorities in the Persian Gulf region, and especially in relation to Iran, it seems that the Biden administration's performance in the crisis of Saudi-Qatari relations is different from the Trump administration. Can be seen in changing the level of crisis and reducing tensions
