The role of media in multicultural and intercultural interaction in today's societies

Abstract

With the advent of the media age and the formation of the information society, the world has begun a new era. In the new world order, we live in the age of the media; An age in which the media is an integral part of our lives. Meanwhile, media policies play a decisive role in the cultural interaction of countries, internet, satellite, radio, television, magazines, books, photos and cinema have a great role to play in raising various awareness and cultural interaction. We know that familiarity with different cultures is effective in reducing culture shock. The statistical population of this study was language and psychology students, professors of the University of Tehran, which included 843 people. According to Morgan's table, a random sample of 265 people was taken and the data collection method was a questionnaire to evaluate the validity and reliability of the questionnaire from experts and equations. Structure was used and the results were analyzed using 3 Smart-PLS and SPSS 25 software and the results showed that the media is effective on multicultural and intercultural interaction in today's societies and the Internet and satellite with route coefficients of 0.472 and 409, respectively. 0. The most impact and magazines, radio with the coefficients of 0.180 and 0.221 had the least impact. Therefore, based on the results, it is better to plan in order to become more familiar with different cultures and reduce culture shock, in order to increase the efficiency of the media in this regard.
