Abstract

Political elite have specific communication patterns to align public opinion with their own, one of which is the use of social media. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the use of social networks by political leaders to guide public opinion. Based on the theories, it can be stated that the communication patterns of political leaders in using social networks to guide public opinion, including "power "Interaction, persuasive power, empathy and empathy, users 'empathy and users' convergence. Which have been evaluated in this study. Therefore, the present study is descriptive-exploratory in terms of method and the statistical population in this study is 45 candidates in Ilam province. The data collection tool is a social network questionnaire. After collecting information through a questionnaire and checklist, the results were analyzed using Lisrell and SPSS software. The results of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between the interactive power, persuasive power, empathy and like-minded power of social networks and their use to influence public opinion.
