Abstract

The left current is considered as a major current in the contemporary history of Iran From the time of the Constitution to the Islamic Revolution, it has always played an active role in political and social developments. After the Islamic Revolution, according to the intellectual life of the left currents in discourse conflicts, they play a more active role in scientific discussions. The Iranian left, which looks at revolutionary, structural, repulsive, and even anti-capitalist and imperialist changes with the spice of indigenous modernization, it tends towards modernity with rational, scientific, humanistic and secular orientations. A critical approach to theories of development and rejection of macro-theories of modernization and the tendency towards socialist modernity can be considered as one of their intellectual characteristics.
This movement tries to rethink the role and function of the government with a critical approach. Therefore, in this study, we try to use the method of political flow, Examine the approach of the intellectual representatives of this current. What emerges from the left-wing approach is that they emphasize the role of social classes in analyzing the relationship between society and the state. And seek to evaluate the formation of a modern, secular state in the process of development and modernization. Intellectual representatives of this current, while enumerating the relative and independent position of governments, The condition of development and modernization is not in strengthening and expanding the authority of governments, Rather, they know the evolution and order of civil society in the sphere of power and politics.
