Abstract
One of the most important issues in the sociology of any society is the stratification structure in that society. Accordingly, the present article examines the structure of stratification in Iran (1976-2011). This has been done according to the theories in the stratification structure of the society and also the statistics obtained from the censuses. The research question (s) are presented as follows: "How can the stratification structure in Iranian society be plotted in 1976-2011?" "What is the share of each of the raised stratums in Iranian society?" In response to the above questions, the present study was conducted by descriptive-analytical method. And the documentary and library method has been used. In the end, the results of the research indicate the stratification of Iranian society into four strata: "upper class", "traditional middle class", "new middle class" and "lower class". Among them, the share of the upper strata of Iranian society is small and the share of the lower strata is higher than other strata.
