Presenting a strategic model of medical tourism with a sustainable development approach in Iranian society

Abstract

Today, all over the world, sustainable development is one of the topics raised in all fields, because sustainability is the main factor in the strategies of any society. Medical tourism can be an important factor for any developing country in achieving its development goals and supporting its economy. Medical tourism as one of the aspects of tourism contributes to the sustainable development and economic mobility of the country. In this form of tourism, many patients travel to well-known and reputable medical centers in developed countries to receive medical services. Iran, as one of the developing countries, has taken several measures in this field in the past few years, which can help sustainable development. The purpose of this research is to provide a strategic model of medical tourism with a sustainable development approach for Iran. In terms of methodology, the current research is a type of research with a combined method with two qualitative and quantitative research approaches. In terms of its purpose, this research is considered part of developmental research, and the research approach of this study is inductive-deductive in terms of the logic of data collection.
