Abstract

According to the nature of the creation of human, God Almighty has legislated rules through the prophets and the tradition of the Infallibles Imams (peace be upon them), which some of them are common between men and women and some others are specific. The rule on menstruation and menopause are some of the special cases of women's rules, studying these rules in Shia and Sunni jurisprudential books, in addition to the common rules show that there are some differences. This article is studied the menopause rules and jurisprudential documents based on Shia and Sunni view. This has been prepared by library method and referring to the main sources and studies. Gathering of information was based on age of women in menopausal rules according Shia and Sunni view. The findings of this work show that the age of menopause is one of the issues of disagreement among Shiite jurists and other sects of Islam, and to determine the age of menopause, four different views have been raised by jurists that vary from 50 to 70 years old.
