Explaining the Behavioral Tendency Model of University Applicants with Emphasis on Student-Student Behavioral interplay in Open Universities

Abstract

The fast developments in education and technology, the need for rethinking in various university management procedures for universities, Who try to create a customer-based attitude towards attracting the maximum number of university applicants. In this way, they can comprise the behavioral tendencies of university applicants for better admission, and thus maintain the system totality. Undoubtedly, one of the management key strategies is to create a framework for the emergence of extra-role behaviors of students or graduates and, consequently, to use this capability to create a positive and appropriate tendency and perception of applicants towards the university. The present study attempt to provide an ecological pattern with three components, including behavioral-situational stimuli, the quality of academic relations, and interpersonal interactions to accept an educational institution with emphasis on open universities, reveals only a few factors influencing educational competition.The institute studied in this research is Payame Noor University and its statistical population is all new students who have just gone through the selection process in a sample of 368 people.After in-depth interviews, a questionnaire was used to collect data,and then structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. According to the findings of this study,satisfaction caused by the behavioral-situational stimuli, includes the quality of interpersonal interactions,the gained values from services,the quality of subjective norms,the perceived quality of services,the resources provided by academia,and the desirability of remote systems,can lead to the attitude resulting from the selection and behavioral tendencies of applicants university by shaping extra-role behaviors in the context of student-student interplay.
