Abstract

Social hope is a reality that is built through the development of trust and depends on social, political, economic and cultural capacities. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between governance quality and social hope with respect to the mediating role of institutional trust. This research has been conducted in terms of applied purpose with a quantitative approach and a survey method using a standard and researcher-made questionnaire. The study population includes young people aged 20 to 35 years in Bushehr who were selected as a sample based on stratified random sampling method using Cochran's formula. Also, for data analysis, structural equation modeling method and software (smart pls) were used. The results showed that the variables of governance quality and institutional trust have a significant relationship with social hope. Also, the indirect and significant relationship between the quality of governance and social hope was confirmed through the mediating role of institutional trust according to the results of the statistical value of the Sobel test (9.59) due to being higher than the criterion (1.96) at 95% confidence level.
