Barriers and factors facilitating organizational resilience in private sector sports clubs

Abstract

The degree of bankruptcy or lack of legal survival in private sports organizations, including sports clubs, indicates the existence of a problem or issue in the field of organizational resilience. The aim of this study was to identify the barriers and factors facilitating organizational resilience in private sports clubs.This qualitative study was conducted using the theme analysis method with the aim of identifying and analyzing the themes in the data.The research community included scientific and executive experts in the field of sports management who were familiar with the topics of private sports organizations.To select the sample, due to the lack of access to a suitable database to determine the group of experts, the snowball sampling method was used. It was semi-structured to gather information from the interview. From the analysis of data obtained from the text of interviews with 17 scientific and executive experts in the field of sports management, barriers and factors facilitating organizational resilience in private sports clubs were identified. Open coding, axial coding and selective coding. According to the findings, organizational resilience barriers include 5 components (inflexible structure, lack of information source, legal barriers, lack of monitoring and evaluation, lack of resilience culture among club members); Resilience facilitators also include 5 components (mission and policy and goals of the organization, morale and education, linking individual and collective interests in the organization, social capital, receiving support from government organizations). Identify barriers and facilitators Organizational resilience will help to create appropriate structures and create a favorable environment and context.
