Abstract

It is impossible to stay out of cultural and ethnic differences in today's world societies. In the Middle East, religious, ethnic, and economic heterogeneity is a common feature of the Middle East. Also in Iran, the model of the nation is mixed and unbalanced. The purpose of this study is to investigate individual and social factors (schema and ethnicity) affecting ethnic convergence among ethnic groups living in Ahvaz. The statistical population in this study includes all citizens 18 years and older in Ahvaz. In selecting the sample population in this study, random sampling was used. The sample size was calculated using the Cochran's formula of 384 people. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between social control and ethnicity and social security and education, social capital and cultural capital and the feeling of relative deprivation and ethnic diversity with ethnic convergence but between the variables age, gender and marital status with ethnic convergence Failed. It is obvious that ethnic diversity in Iran, as an objective reality in our current society, has requirements and demands rights that are legitimate. Therefore, in order to ensure justice and equal rights for citizens, they should be considered and a solution should be provided.
