Abstract

From the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the formation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1357 until now, various discourses have dominated the policies of the country. Each of these discourses was based on the traditional system ruling the society and on the centers of political power, based on the special axis and components of the conditions and situations of the society at that time. One of these important discourses in Iran's political eras is the discourse of reforms, under which new concepts such as rule of law and populism emerged in the political arena, and the popular side of the political system's legitimacy emerged more than in the past. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to explain the role of reform discourse on the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic.
The main question of this research is what role or impact the discourse of reforms has had on the legitimacy of the political system of the Islamic Republic.
