Abstract

Land reform is one of the important programs that created many effects in the political dimension in Iranian society. The reform program basically included land reforms and five other programs that were approved in the referendum on February 6, 1341. The land reform program was the main part and core of the White Revolution. The implementation of the six principles of the revolution and especially the land reforms left various political consequences in the villages and cities of Iran, and even some experts consider these consequences to be the main reasons for the overthrow of the Pahlavi monarchy. Based on this, the main goal of this article is to investigate the effects of land reform on the migration process and its political consequences in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces. The main question has been raised as follows: what are the political consequences of land reforms in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces? In response to this hypothesis, land reforms in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces have led to changes in the construction of power in villages, the weakening of owners, the weakening of left parties and the concentration of government power in rural areas. The results of the article show that agrarian reforms led to the expansion of the social base of the vulnerable and disaffected strata of the urban society through migration from the village to the city and the expansion of marginalization in the cities, and in this way became the driving factor in the 1957 revolution.
