Abstract

One of the factors affecting national security is the way of governing, which judges the political system based on its efficiency. The efficiency of the political system is a concept that, along with accountability, the rule of law, the quality of law, the control of corruption, and political stability, constitute the components of "good governance." This article sought to provide a coherent and consistent picture of the relationship between good governance and national security to the question of what effect the indicators of good governance have on Iran's national security? In response to this question, the hypothesis was raised that "with the reduction of good governance indicators in Iran, the coefficient of national security will also decrease." The method of this research was mixed and the technique used was a survey that required the necessary information through documentary tools, library studies, utilization of World Bank statistical data and interviews with experts. The results of the study showed a direct and significant impact of national security on good governance that we achieved during the study. Studies have also shown that the quality of legislation and efficiency, as well as the control of corruption, are among the factors that lead to improved national security.
