Abstract

One of the plagues of new societies is social indifference, which has been noticed by sociologists as a social problem and an unusual state of social behavior. Social indifference refers to the state of disconnection from the social system in different dimensions. The results of surveys and researches show that there is a deficiency in the active actions of citizens in Iranian society and the rate of social indifference is increasing. In this research, focusing on the city of Tabriz, the main question is what sociological factors play a role in the social indifference of citizens. The statistical population includes citizens over 18 years of age in Tabriz and the sampling method is cluster. The research method is a survey and the research tool is a questionnaire. According to research findings, social health and social vitality have an inverse relationship with social indifference. In general, reducing social indifference and improving social care requires improving social health and social vitality. It is suggested that in the analysis of social indifference, instead of a positive approach and quantitative and standard tools, it should be done with a qualitative approach in the context of the same society and research culture, so that the measures and solutions are also appropriate to the same context.
