Investigation and Analysis of Spatial and Sociological Quality of Metro Stations(Case Study: Mashhad Mellat Park Metro Station)

Abstract

Today the space of metro stations which is one of the urban and public spaces that is a platform for a variety of activities and social interactions. Due to the fact that space affects behavior with appropriate space, a platform can be created for people to automatically tend to that behavior or similar behaviors. One of the important issues in metro stations is the issue of spatial quality of metro terminals. The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the spatial quality of Mashhad Mellat Park metro station in the social and sociological context of the people. This station is one of the busiest metro terminals in Mashhad and can accommodate different people. The research method is descriptive-analytical that the analyzes were performed with SPSS software. According to the studies performed by the Minister of Safety and Function, their components such as comfort, supervision, orientation and social interactions are in a better position than other components of spatial quality. It seems that Mashhad Mellat Park metro has the capacity to improve the quality of space, but the conditions for this are not available. Paying attention to the symbols and signs and the number of paintings and the harmony of the spaces can help in improving the quality of the space.
