A comparative study of social and cultural factors affecting the championship sports of Iranian and Malaysian women in the last 50 years

Abstract

With the significant increase in the role of sports in the development of countries, progress in this field has become one of the priorities. Women's sports have an important role in this field, but less attention has been paid to it. Countries like Iran and Malaysia have had many social and cultural challenges in women's championship sports, and considering the importance of this field and the limitations of the researches that have been done in this field, therefore, the present study aims to compare the impact of social and cultural factors on women's championship sports. Iran and Malaysia have been conducted in the last 50 years, the statistical population of the research includes experts, champions, officials, academic sports professors and coaches related to women's sports in Iran and Malaysia, and sampling was done using the snowball method, and finally with 22 interviews ( 12 Iranians and 10 Malaysians) theoretical saturation occurred. The data collection tool included semi-structured interviews and after checking the validity of the data, coding was used using MaxQDA software and survey theory method to analyze the specialized interviews. According to the findings, the concepts obtained for women's championship sports in Iran are 46 concepts and Malaysia 43 concepts, and these concepts are similar between the two countries in 34 cases, and 9 factors are the differences between the concepts of the two countries.
